MAN ARRESTED AFTER SEVERAL ALLEGED BREAK-INS

A 43-year-old man has been arrested and charged, following investigations into several alleged break-ins in Newcastle this month.

The incidents include an alleged break-in of a Wharf Road coffee shop and a Hunter street shop on May 7, a theft from a Wallsend supermarket on May 12 and an aggravated break-in of a New Lambton supermarket on May 14.

Officers arrested a 43-year-old man at Cardiff just before 5pm yesterday.

He was taken to Waratah Police Station and charged with several offences.

He was refused bail to appear at Newcastle Local Court today.
