Newcastle coach Ernie Merrick says we haven’t seen the best of Venezuelan import Ronald Vargas, but A-League fans will get the chance, following news the Jets have re-signed the 31-year-old for the 2018/19 season.
Vargas showed glimpses of brilliance in 2017, before suffering a terrible injury in October.
He returned for the latter stages of the season and the finals.
Vargas recently had a pin removed from his ankle, but is expected to take part in a full Australian pre-season for the first time.
