MAN ARRESTED FOLLOWING HIGH-SPEED PURSUIT IN TAMWORTH

A Calala man has been arrested following a high-speed pursuit in Tamworth this afternoon.

Police attempted to pull over a white four-wheel-drive on the New England Highway, shortly before 3pm.

The ute was then pursued along several streets, allegedly clocking up speeds of 160-kilometres an hour.

The chase was terminated in Coledale – the four-wheel-drive abandoned on Cole Road.

Police searched a number of properties, before the driver was found and arrested in a nearby home.
