JAKE HIGGINBOTTOM BEST PLACED LOCAL AT WESTERN AUSTRALIA PGA

Golf and Charlestown’s Jake Higginbottom, has finished as the best of our locals at the Western Australia PGA Championship.

Higginbottom managed to grab a share of the lead midway through his round, but that’s as good as it got for the 24 year old.

Three bogeys on the back nine saw him finish in outright fourth.

Toronto professional Callan O’Reilly was a further six shots back, grabbing a tie for 17th.

New Zealand’s Michael Long claimed the $18,000 winner’s cheque, thanks to an impressive final round 64.
