MAN’S BODY FOUND AFTER UNIT BLAZE AT TWEED HEADS

A man has died in a house fire at Tweed Heads early this morning.

The Flamingo Place unit was well alight by the time emergency services arrived just after 9am.

Fire and Rescue worked to extinguish the blaze, but the unit was destroyed.

Sadly, a later search of the property by Tweed Byron Police found the body of a man believed to be in his 60’s.

An investigation has been launched, at this stage police are not treating the blaze as suspicious.
