A 26-year-old woman has been arrested, after an overnight police pursuit through the Lake Macquarie suburb of Windale.
Police attempted to stop a Holden Commodore around 1am this morning, after it allegedly travelled at speed and failed to give way at the intersection of Lachlan and Oxley Streets.
Officers began a short pursuit, before the driver fled the car on foot into bushland off Cherry Street.
With the assistance of the Police dog unit, a 26-year-old woman was located and arrested.
She was charged with multiple offences, including driving when license suspended, and will face court later today.
