A touch of history was in the air today, as the annual Tamworth Heritage festival got underway.
The event aims to show locals the rich heritage right on their doorstep, as well as promote the region to visitors.
“What intrigues me is that young people are so keen to establish roots with their heritage not only their own geneology but the heritage of their environment,” Cr Juanita Wilson, Chair of the Heritage Working Group.
The festival concludes next Friday with the Regional Heritage Awards at Goonoo Goonoo Station.
