MAN CHARGED OVER UNIVERSITY CARJACKING

A man will face court tomorrow charged over a carjacking at the University of Newcastle last month.

The 26-year-old was arrested at a home at Woodberry this morning.

He’s accused of threatening a 19-year-old male with a gun, then stealing his car from a university carpark.

The man has been refused bail and is due to appear in Maitland Local Court tomorrow.
