A 38-year-old disqualified driver has been charged, after allegedly leading police on a pursuit in the Lake Macquarie suburb of Edgeworth.
Police attempted to stop a Holden ute in Neilsen Street just after 11 last night, when it’s alleged the driver accelerated away at speed.
The man then fled on foot into nearby bushland, before being arrested after a struggle with police.
A search of the man’s ute found illicit drugs and a weapon.
He was charged with multiple offences including resisting officer in execution of duty, and will face court today.
