FINANCIAL HELP ON OFFER FOR DROUGHT AFFECTED FARMERS
Drought-affected farmers can now access financial assistance to help manage livestock through the continuing dry conditions.
Today, the state government has announced a new drought transport fund – allowing farmers up to $20, 000- in low interest loans.
The money would allow eligible farmers to pay freight costs for fodder and water, as well as move livestock to other properties for agistment.
Currently more than a third of the state is experiencing drought conditions – many Upper Hunter farmers are expected to access the new fund.
