MAN HIT BY CAR ON M1 MOTORWAY

A 59-year-old man has been airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital, after he was hit by a car on the M1 Motorway, near the Peats Ridge exit.

The CareFlight rescue helicopter arrived at Calga at around 9.30am this morning.

New South Wales Ambulance crews initially treated the man, before he was flown to Sydney.

He remains in a serious, but stable condition.
