Three years after the Burwood Colliery Bowling Club closed down, weeds are taking over and sadly, the Whitebridge site is starting to become an eyesore.
An Awabakal aboriginal land claim made a year ago is still being investigated by the Department of Industry Lands and Water.
The department says “while the investigation is progressing, it’s not possible to say when the claim will be finalised.”
Meanwhile, the Department will continue to fund security and maintenance to ensure public safety at the site.
