UNE LOOKS TO RENEWABLE FUTURE AFTER SOLAR FARM GETS GREEN LIGHT
The University of New England has finally been given the go ahead for its solar farm project.
While UNE had hoped to have completed the project by this year, it was stalled in recent times due to the challenges with the university’s high voltage network.
The project is estimated to cost around $14-million.
Once complete, it’s expected to cut the university’s annual $3-million power bill in half.
It will also see UNE’s carbon emissions reduced by up to 5,000 tonnes per year.
