Local produce has been the winner this Valentine’s Day, with customers buying up big at rose farms around the region.
Customer numbers have been up on 20-17 with the day falling on a more favourable Wednesday for florists than last year’s Tuesday.
Growers say the day before is always the busiest, but peak sales hit late this afternoon.
The red roses were the obvious choice, but strawberries also made an appearance for a crimson favourite.
But the real sweet spot came in the traditional chocolates- the love heart variety the real cream of the crop.
