ROAMING BOVINES A CONCERN FOR RESIDENTS
Residents of a Hunter Valley suburb are calling on local council to address the herds of livestock that wander through the suburb from neighbouring rural properties.
Thornton residents have reportedly lodged more than 50 complaints to council, with concerns the roaming bovines could one day cause serious injury or death.
Driving hazards, manure, and damage to residential gardens are also among the concerns raised.
It’s believed council is exploring the possibility of fencing the rural properties, before seeking reimbursement.
