SEVERAL AUS DAY ROAD INCIDENTS IN THE HUNTER
Highway patrol officers are not pleased with the behaviour of Hunter drivers overnight.
At around 10 o’clock, a pedestrian was hit by a car at Tanilba Bay.
The 59-year-old suffered a fractured pelvis – officers are now looking for the driver.
Meanwhile, police have charged a P-plate driver in Singleton, after he allegedly sped past a marked highway patrol car at 140 kilometres an hour in a 60 zone.
In total, just over 10,000 random breath tests were conducted across the region yesterday.
315 drivers were charged with speeding offences, while close to 400 others are facing general offences.
Officers were out in force again today, with Operation Safe Return continuing until tomorrow night.
