WOODY SMASHES PB AT STATE CHAMPS

Mingara’s Brad Woodward claimed the New South Wales 200-metres backstroke title at the weekend, smashing the two-minute barrier in the process at Sydney Olympic Park.

His winning time was one-minute – 58-point-three….more than three seconds ahead of his nearest rival.

In last night’s 100 Final, it was another PB for Wooodward and a photo finish, with former World Championship bronze medallist Ben Treffers triumphant by a fraction of a second.

Next up for the 19-year old…the Commonwealth Games trials in February.
