NSW TEAM WINS SURF LIFESAVING INTERSTATE TITLES

A collection of Hunter, Central Coast and Far North Coast athletes have helped New South Wales secure surf lifesaving’s Australian Interstate Title.
Cudgen’s Anthea Warne, Redhead’s Daniel Collins, Hayden Copping and Nicola Owen joined Umina’s Jemma Smith and Rachel Wood in the 24-strong team.
New South Wales finished first in team events and the youth divisions, then came second in the open class to beat Queensland to the overall title.

Mitchell Hughes started as a tape editor in Newcastle in 1999. He became a reporter in 2004, working in Lismore and on the Gold Coast.
