A 79-year-old man has died after being struck by a car in Belmont overnight.
About 8.45pm, the man was crossing the Pacific Highway when he was hit by a Toyota Hilux.
Police officers were nearby and assisted the man, however, he died at the scene.
The 55-year-old driver of the car stopped following the crash. He was uninjured and was taken to Belmont Hospital for mandatory testing.
Investigations are underway, with police appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
