TWO SERIOUSLY INJURED IN GRETA BALLOON CRASH

Two people have been airlifted to hospital, after a hot air balloon with 15 people on board crashed in the Hunter Valley early this morning.

Police say the balloon attempted to land at Camp Road in Greta, about 21km from Cessnock, just after 7am, but struck a bush and crashed.

Four people received minor injuries, but a 20-year-old woman was treated for suspected spinal injuries, while an 80-year-old woman was treated for multiple fractures.

Both women were airlifted to the John Hunter Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
