A woman has been hospitalised after being struck by a taxi, north-west of Newcastle this morning.
The incident happened in the car park of a shopping centre in West Mall, Rutherford, just before 8am.
The woman, believed to be aged in her 60s, was taken to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.
The 42-year-old female taxi driver was taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.
