THREE TO FACE COURT AFTER ALLEGED PURSUIT NEAR BULAHDELAH

Three people will front a local court on the Mid North Coast after an alleged police pursuit there yesterday.

The pursuit began just before 2pm on the Pacific Highway at Bulahdelah, when police allegedly attempted to stop a yellow Hyundai Excel that was towing a red Holden Commodore.

During the chase, the tow rope between the vehicles snapped at Possum Brush, with the red Commodore coming to a stop.

Officers then deployed road spikes at Glenthorne, and the Hyundai crashed into bushland after the driver allegedly attempted to swerve around the spikes.

The female driver and her two male passengers were arrested at the scene and taken to Taree Police Station.

Among other charges, the 29-year-old driver from Queensland, was charged with two counts of police pursuit, driving a conveyance without the consent of the owner, driving while licence suspended, and possessing a prohibited drug.

Two men, aged 22 and 33, were charged with being carried in a conveyance without the consent of owner.
