CATHO CLASSIC GEARING UP FOR 39TH YEAR

The swell forecast is looking a little iffy… but the weather should be perfect for this weekend’s Catho Classic surf comp.

The prestigious event is marking its 39th year.

“My hair’s gotten a lot greyer since we started, 1979. But the response from the community, surfers up and down from Dudley to Lake Munmorah has been great. Fantastic.”

Defending champion, Lake Munmorah’s Mick Spencer, is the favourite.

He’ll be gunning for his fifth crown.
