5 PEOPLE RESCUED FROM BIRUBI BEACH

Local surfers and an overseas tourist have saved the lives of five people, who became caught in a rip off Birubi Beach at Port Stephens.

They heroically rescued each swimmer from the surf – dragging them to shore, before two people were airlifted to hospital.

  1. It was actually 5 people who helped bring in the 6 people who were in trouble. 3 on boards and 2 jet skis bay were further down the beach. There were a further 2 people on the helping to put people in the recovering position.
