A brief, yet fierce hail storm has lashed parts of the mid north coast, including Coffs Harbour, where strong winds and hailstones sent people and motorists scurrying for cover.
The storm, which unleashed just before 2.30, covered the ground with a blanket of ice.
So far there have been no reports of serious damage.
