22-YEAR-OLD DROWNS AT TWEED HEADS

A man in his 20’s has drowned on the Far North Coast.

Emergency services responded to reports of people in trouble in the water at Duranbah Beach in Tweed Heads, just before 5pm yesterday.

Eight people were pulled from the water by lifeguards, but a 22-year-old man died.

The other seven people were taken to hospital for assessment.
