Lake Macquarie sailors Kyle Langford and Lucas Chapman continue to make their way from South Africa to Melbourne as part of Leg Three of the Volvo Ocean Race.
“From what I can tell the Southern Ocean is a place that’s good to watch through the computer screen. It’s isolated, cold and windy and definitely as difficult if not worse than what I was expecting.”
Thankfully conditions have eased, allowing the locals to make a special appearance.
Langford believes his crew is a strong chance of being on the podium around Boxing Day.
