SEARCH CONTINUES FOR DROWNING VICTIM AT PORT MACQUARIE BEACH

A search involving police, Surf Life Saving, Marine Rescue, and the Westpac Rescue helicopter will this morning resume for a missing swimmer off a Port Macquarie beach.

The 14-year-old boy was with two others when they got into difficulty in the surf off Flynns Beach, shortly after 3pm on Saturday.

The two others were brought to shore, and a search was initiated for the missing third child, but police say the child’s body was sighted at around 5:30pm.

Attempts to recover him were unsuccessful due to the treacherous surf conditions.
