ROAD SPIKES USED TO END CENTRAL COAST VEHICLE PURSUIT

Three people have been arrested following a police pursuit on the Central Coast.

Just after midnight police attempted to stop a white Nissan Pulsar sedan they say was bearing stolen plates on Young Street at West Gosford.

The pursuit that followed travelled through Somersby and Ourimbah, during which the Nissan allegedly damaged a police car.

Police deployed road spikes on Reliance Drive in Tuggerah, and the car eventually came to a stop on Victoria Road in Woy Woy.

The three occupants then allegedly fled on foot but were detained by police shortly after.

A 25-year-old man was charged with two counts of police pursuit, two counts of assaulting police, using an offensive weapon to avoid apprehension, and goods in custody, amongst a range of other charges.

A 36-year-old woman will be charged with travelling in a conveyance, and a 19-year-old man, who suffered an ear injury during the incident, is expected to be charged on his release from hospital.
