DRIVER CHARGED UNDER SKYE’S LAW AFTER ALLEGED TAREE PURSUIT

The driver of a vehicle involved in an police pursuit on the Mid North Coast has allegedly posted speeds of up to 100km/h in 50km zones.

Police say they attempted to stop a stolen red Mazda on Comboyne Road in Taree just after 5am today, but the driver allegedly sped away.

A pursuit followed through Wingham, where the alleged speeds of 100km/h in 50km zones was recorded, before road spikes brought the car chase to an end.

Among other offences, a 35-year-old man was charged with Skye’s Law and aggravated break and enter, while a 22-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man were also charged with aggravated break and enter.
