MAN TO FACE COURT OVER ALLEGED CAR AND TRAILER THEFT

A man who left his wallet behind after refueling an allegedly stolen car in the Northern Rivers has been charged by police.

Police were initially called to the service station on Granuielle Street in Bangalow at around 8:30am yesterday, following reports a stolen vehicle and trailer had been seen at the bowser.

A 28-year-old man allegedly fled the scene on foot after paying for fuel, but left his wallet and mobile phone behind.

Police were able to arrest him a short time later, after he was seen at licensed premises on Clifford Street in Suffolk Park.

He was charged with an outstanding warrant for the offence of stealing a motor vehicle, among other offences.
