CHILD GRABBED BY AN UNKNOWN MAN IN COFFS HARBOUR

Police are on the lookout for a man who reportedly picked up a young child and attempted to run off with her on the Mid North Coast.

A group of four children, aged between two and nine, were playing on McLean Street Oval in Coffs Harbour about 7.30pm last night when they were approached by a man who’d been jogging around the oval.

Police have been told he picked up the two-year-old and jogged with her for a short distance before the child’s sister yelled at him.

The man put the girl down and left the scene.

The man has been described as Indian Sub-continental or Asian in appearance, 40 to 50 years old, 170cm to 180cm tall, with a thin build and short dark hair.
