ST. CLARE’S HIGH SCHOOL STARTS CAPITAL WORKS OVERHAUL

Part of Taree’s Saint Clare’s high school has been torn up to make way for a long-awaited upgrade.

The project will see new basketball court, eleven new class rooms in a flexible learning centre, and improvements to the library and student amenities.

“Over the last four years there has been a trend increase in enrollments which is meant that we have been able to attract funding,” said Principal Peter Nichols.

More than three of the $4.9-million upgrade was funded by the Federal Government.

“It’s a way of keeping cutting edge teaching spaces on the ground here in Taree and in the Manning,” said Federal Member for Lyne, David Gillespie.

The upgrade is set to finish before H-S-C exams next year.
