FIREARMS STOLEN FROM TWO HUNTER PROPERTIES

More than a dozen firearms have been stolen during separate break-ins in the Hunter Valley.

In one instance, the 69-year-old occupant of a property on the New England Highway in Singleton returned from a week’s vacation at around 7pm last night to find a gun safe open.

Six double barrel shotguns and eight rifles had been taken, along with two boxes of ammunition.

While, sometime between Saturday and Sunday last weekend, a .22 Savage rifle and ammunition was stolen from a gun safe at a property on Michael Hill Avenue in Woodberry.

Anyone with information about the break-ins is being urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
