MAN STABBED IN THE HAND DURING BREAK-IN

A man has been stabbed during an aggravated break-in, in the Hunter Valley.

Police say a male, armed with a knife, broke into a home on Ninth Street in Cessnock at about 2:30am on Sunday.

A 35-year-old man was then stabbed in the hand.

Investigations led police to arrest a 29-year-old man at a home on Coulson Avenue in Cessnock, at around 10 o’clock last night.

He’s been charged with aggravated break and enter, and resisting an officer in execution of duty.

The injured man attended Cessnock Hospital for treatment.
