POLICE TRAIN FOR WATER RESCUES

A group of Manning Great Lakes policemen and women were hard at training today.

They teamed up with Maritime, Marine Rescue, Water Police and Fisheries for a simulated rescue on Wallis Lake.

“In a practical sense we all would probably pitch in if we had a major rescue or a need here on the water in the lake. Luckily of course we haven’t had too much need for that but we still need to train and we still need to train together so we can work together if something does happen,” said Tony Power.

The theory and practical assessment happens every two years.
