Newcastle’s old railway station is a step closer to becoming one of the city’s newest destination precincts.
The Hunter Development Corporation is now seeking expressions of interest for the heritage site.
“We could see anything from a mixture of restaurants, cafes, artists in residence, outdoor cinemas a variety of things, little boutique music type scenario,” Michael Cassel from Revitalising Newcastle.
An operator is being sought to lease and manage the station for at least 18 months, from April next year.
