TWO PEOPLE KILLED IN PLANE CRASH SOUTH OF PORT MACQUARIE

Two people have been killed in a light plane crash south of Port Macquarie.

The two-engine Cessna 310 aircraft was reportedly travelling from Toowoomba to Taree when it crashed into trees off the edge of the Pacific Highway, north of Johns River at around 4 yesterday afternoon.

Police attended the crash site and located the bodies of a man and a woman.

No other passengers were on board.

The crash scene was under police guard overnight while the Australian Transportation Safety Bureau continue to investigate.
