A warning has been issued for five Tuggerah Lakes beaches with elevated bacteria levels.
It’s believed the dry conditions and increased bird activity have led to the changes.
Regular testing has shown Summerland Point, Gwandalan, Mannering Park, Chain Valley Bay and Canton Beach all have high levels of bacteria.
It’s advised that residents and visitors avoid swimming in these areas.
All coastal beaches are in the clear.
