Narrabri Shire Council has been named to host the next Local Government Network Aboriginal Conference in 2018.
The event acts as a forum for discussion on issues relating to indigenous communities and businesses, while celebrating Aboriginal culture and heritage.
In its 30th year, around 200 delegates are expected to attend the conference.
Mayor Cathy Redding says having recently returned from this year’s event in Albury, she has seen the way it can motivate change within the community.
