A man is being treated for burns in hospital after a barricade situation in Gloucester overnight.
Just after 9 last night, police attended a home on Denison Street and attempted to speak to a 63 year-old man.
He allegedly made number of threats to the authorities outside and just before midnight the house caught alight.
When the blaze was put out, emergency services found the man inside suffering from burns.
He was taken to Gloucester Hospital and has now been be airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital.
A critical incident investigation team will examine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
