DRIVER CHARGED AFTER PASSENGER KILLED IN CAR CRASH

A woman will face a charge of negligent driving causing death, after her passenger died in a car crash on the Mid North Coast earlier this year.

Police say the male passenger, aged 31, died when a Nissan Navara utility left the roadway and struck a tree, on the Pacific Highway at Heron’s Creek near Port Macquarie in July.

The female driver was uninjured in the crash, and was taken to Port Macquarie Hospital for observation.

The 32-year-old driver from Queensland has now been charged with negligent driving causing death and will face Tweed Heads Local Court on 30 October.
