WARDELL BUSHFIRE UNDER CONTROL

Firefighters have worked tirelessly overnight to contain an out-of-control bushfire burning near Wardell.

There were concerns the fire could affect nearby rural properties, but the Rural Fire Service says they’re no longer under threat.

Aerial water-bombing was carried out this morning, and the fire has been contained.

The blaze has burnt-out more than 350 hectares since Monday night.

Crews are still on the scene monitoring and patrolling the area.

And a bushfire burning in the Main Arm area has flared up again.

The Rural Fire Service has crews on site working to create containment lines.

The fire is creating large amounts of smoke, but is of no risk to property at this stage.
