WOODLAWN SCORES GIO TROPHY

St John’s College Woodlawn has taken out the state’s GIO schoolboys Trophy for the first time.

Costly mistakes found the team down 10- nil in the first six minutes.

But it didn’t last – Woodlawn getting the upper hand – with Dane Pratt scoring a try from dummy half and converting.

By half-time, a conversion from the sideline gave Woodlawn a dominating 24-10 lead over Patrician Brothers.

Despite being the smaller side, Woodlawn came away with an impressive 36 to 26 win.

It comes just two weeks after the side took out the New South Wales Country Cup at Dubbo.
