A man will face court after a fatal crash in the north of the state in late August.

The death occurred when a Holden Astra left the road and hit a drain on Back Lane in Junction Hill near Grafton, just before 1am on August 22.

A 24-year-old man, who had been travelling as a rear-seat passenger died at the scene.

Two female passengers, both aged 17, and the 18-year-old male driver were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Yesterday, police charged the driver with a range of offences, including dangerous driving causing death, and not complying with P1 restrictions.

He will appear in court in November.
