GRAFTON MOTORCYCLIST KILLED AFTER COLLIDING WITH CAR

A 60-year-old man has died after his motorcycle collided with another vehicle in the north of the state.

The accident occurred on the Gwydir Highway in Waterview Heights near Grafton, shortly after 9am.

Police believe a blue Holden Commodore was attempting to turn right when it collided with a motorcycle.

The rider landed almost 40 metres from the collision.

He was airlifted to Grafton airport but he died of his injuries.

The driver of the Holden provided mandatory blood and urine samples.

It is the second death of a motorcycle rider in Northern Region in as many days, after a 17-year-old motorcycle rider was killed after he collided with a Nissan Patrol in Tweed Heads yesterday.
