A 20-year plan shaping the the way forward for the region was unveiled at Agquip today.
Tourism, agriculture and mining have been highlighted as major economic drivers in the New England North West.
Planning will also need to be centred around an ageing population.
“In this region, we’re looking at population increase of around 14, 000 between now and 20-36. Our population is going to demographically age as well. So we’re going to go from about one in five people over 65 now, to about one in four.”
