Tamworth Regional Council will spend around $1-million creating more than 100 new car parking spaces in the C-B-D.
On Monday work will begin to clear a vacant block, adjoining the Community Centre carpark.
The extension will see 111 new spaces created – but it’s still unclear whether they’ll be free or ticketed parking.
The project will take around seven weeks to complete.
