WOMAN ALLEGEDLY FOUND ASLEEP IN STOLEN CAR

A woman has allegedly been found asleep in an a stolen car by officers near the Gold Coast.

Last Monday 7 August, police say a silver Honda CR-V was stolen from a home at Tweeds Heads after an alleged break in.

Yesterday morning, police spotted the car parked in Prowse Street, where they found the 29-year-old sleeping in the front passenger seat.

Authorities also found a 23-year-old man they believe is an accomplice, in a nearby backyard.

He was charged with a number of theft and drug possession related charges and will appear in Tweed Heads local court today.

While the woman was granted conditional bail and will face similar charges in court early next month.
