BERESFIELD’S BROWN WINS LES PARROTT MEMORIAL TITLE

To lawn bowls, and Michael Brown from Beresfield has won the Les Parrott Memorial Open Singles for the first time.
Brown raced out to a seven-one lead in today’s decider against 2005 champion, Ian Lean, from Raymond Terrace.
Lean got back to 10-all after 13 ends, but Brown eventually took the match, 25 to 18.
In the restricted singles, Terry Phillips from Windale/Gateshead beat Wallsend’s Kevin Mills, 25-12.
